Vero (Jang Ji-kwang) of Jinjo Crew, who rewrote the history of breaking not only in South Korea but around the world, held a trash bag under the sunlight instead of the gorgeous stage lights.
This effort, which took place for over two hours starting from 9:30 AM on the 10th, was part of the environmental campaign 'PICK & RUN 1.5℃ with Cocoa' organized by the Korea Social Contribution Association, a public interest corporation under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It was carried out around the shopping district near Exit 4 of Sillim Station in Seoul and the Boramae Park area.
Vero, who usually travels and performs on the world's leading stages, became a member of the local community on this day, roaming every corner of the alleys and sweating heavily to clean up the environment.
A total of 22 volunteers, including Vero, Jinjo Crew's leader Skim (Kim Heon-jun), social influencers, and the plogging crew 'Tomato Dan', joined forces to carry out practical sharing in the activity on this day.
Since its formation in 2001, Jinjo Crew is a legendary team that has achieved the world's only 'Grand Slam' by sweeping all five major global B-Boy competitions, including the UK B-Boy Championships and Red Bull BC One, with about 259 total team victories.
Leaving this glamorous background behind, Vero personally demonstrated the good influence of an artist by quietly bending down to pick up trash at the lowest places.
Vero expressed his sincere feelings at the site, saying, "I think sharing the countless support and love I received through dance in daily life is the most honest way I can give back," adding, "I will not stop with this one-time participation and want to continue to act and be of help to the local community in the future."
Starting with this campaign, Jinjo Crew also plans to open a new horizon for Influencer Social Responsibility (ISR) by regularly promoting various social contribution activities for environmental protection, local communities, and the next generation.
Even though they have reached the top of the world, their move to make practical changes while breathing with the public goes beyond simple volunteering and is spreading healthy energy throughout society.
